One of the biggest challenges we face as an organisation is how to offer training to teachers throughout New Zealand in a cost effective and efficient way. Our previous method of offering face to face training in cities and towns across the country was both costly and time consuming. It limited our ability to be flexible if a teacher couldn't attend a set day or a new teacher came on board during the year.
When we first decided to use webinars as an alternative way to offer training, it was a foreign concept and a bit scary for both our internal staff and the teachers we were trying to train. Thanks to the support from Magpie Media, that fear quickly evaporated as both groups realised how easy webinars were to run and to participate in. The advice and technical support that Magpie Media has given us has allowed our staff to focus on the content of the training and not worry about the technical aspects of the delivery. Our staff now love running webinar training sessions. We have had fantastic feedback from the teachers who talk about how easy it is and the convenience of downloading a webinar if the scheduled time does not suit them.
